iSeeCars statistic: White paint in the most popular cars in the United States

For the second year in a row, white continues to be the most popular car color in the USA, with the latest data analysis and iSeeCars allowing a customer base of more than 6.1 million cars in America showing that a quarter of the cars in the US were finished with white paint, followed by black, gray and silver, so the numbers and list are very similar to what they were before Covid-19, that is, in the results of 2019 with negligible slight differences.

iSeeCars auto market specialists say that 78.5 percent of all vehicles currently on America's streets are black-and-white, including white, black, gray and silver cars, all of which belong to the same spectrum.

White is the most popular color with 25.8% of all cars, and its popularity can be attributed to being a color that is easy to maintain clean and does not show obsolescence factors.

Also, white is the most common color in corporate and taxi rental fleets, which also makes it the most common color in the used car market.

Black cars rank second with 23.2% of all cars in the United States, most of which belong to the luxury car segment.

Many brands, especially luxury ones such as Bentley and Mercedes, offer versions with black edges and finishes at an extra cost and many customers choose this color as a symbol of high social status.

iSeeCars says that black isn't particularly practical in terms of maintenance, which is why many people prefer gray or silver instead, here's the full list of the most common car colors according to iSeeCars.

iSeeCars compared this year's results to the data it obtained for 2017.

Five years ago, gray was also at the forefront, but black was the most common color superior to white.

Interestingly, the color cars that enter the black-and-white spectrum zone represent a slightly larger part of the rest of the colored vehicles in America this year, accounting for 78.6% of the cars, and for comparison the gray vehicles in 2017 occupied 76.2% of the automotive market, iSeeCars also studied the most common car colors by state, for the two colors white was the preferred color of 36 states and black in 14 other states.
